Adult Courses & Workshops Summer 2008
This summer we are offering a range of courses including dedicated tuition in watercolour painting, landscape painting and life drawing. All are based in or near Strontian, on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, one of the most beautiful and spectacular parts of Scotland.
The following courses will run in summer 2008 and can be booked now:
Life Drawing
An introduction to life drawing. Ideal for beginners or refresher course for artists of any age or experience. The focus will be on observation and quality of line with projects range from lightening fast sketches to prolonged poses aimed at building more finished results. Your tutor’s approach will be very much on an individual basis where each person will be encouraged to develop their own skills and interests in whatever medium they choose to use.
Location: Resipole Studios, Argyll
Dates: 7th – 11th July & 14th – 18th July 2008
Cost: £230(course only) £350(with accommodation*)
Watercolour Painting
The aim of this course will be to provide beginners with an easy introduction to this most subtle of mediums and to offer the experienced practitioner many sophisticated, odd and surprisingly easy techniques. Over 5 days your tutor will take you through the basic concepts which lie behind watercolour painting, at the same time giving an entertaining history of the subject, leading to a thorough understanding of the medium, and the production of a complete and finished work.

Drawing and Painting in the Landscape
Spend all day out and about working on your own work at your own pace, wherever you wish; the area around Strontian is one of the most beautiful and spectacular parts of Scotland.
In the late afternoon, return to the studio where your tutor will be on hand to assist in either taking the days sketches further or producing a finished piece.
Location: The Sunart Centre, Ardnamurchan
Dates: 30th June– 4th July & 20th – 24th July 2008

Children’s Courses are run concurrently through Room 13 Summer School.
Further information about any of the above plus details of lectures, demonstrations and workshops we can offer to your Art Club throughout the year available on request.
(*Your choice of single or twin room, all ensuite, with shared kitchen/lounge area.
Accommodation is located in the Sunart Centre’s onsite residence. Anyone wishing to stay here and attend courses at Resipole Studios, approximately 7 miles from the Sunart Centre, would require own transport.)
