Room 13 Residency at National Galleries of Scotland

24th - 26th June 2008

Room 13 artists will undertake a short residency at the National Galleries of Scotland. The management team of Room 13 Lochyside have organised the event, for 7 artists from their studio, plus others invited from Lochaber High School.

Over 3 days they will work from a temporary studio in the National Gallery of Scotland, making work inspired by the collection. The work produced will be exhibited in the National Gallery of Scotland in the Spring of 2009.

Room 13 Open Week

Room 13 Studios across the UK welcomed visitors during our open week. Thanks to everyone who came, and everyone who continues to take an interest in our work.

Room 13 Hareclive Presents New Work

April 2008

Look out, look out the Lemurs are all around you!

Room 13 Hareclive presents a new exhibition of 9 screen prints inspired by visits to Bristol Zoo and Gardens. These artworks were commissioned by Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and produced at Spike Print Studio by the artists of Room 13 Hareclive.

Room 13 Foshay LA Tap Project

Room 13 Foshay recently showed work for the first time in a gallery in Los Angeles. They created art to benefit UNICEF's Tap Project which helps children around the world get clean water.

Room 13 Foshay 'Free Art Day'

March 2008

Room 13 Foshay hosted a 'Free Art Day' for families and the local community. This was a great chance to share what they are doing in their new studio at James A. Foshay Learning Centre. Room 13 Foshay succeeded in getting generations working together, raising the profile of Room 13 within their community, and even managed to sell a few pieces of work to get their business underway.

Room 13 Open Week planned for May 2008

Room 13 Open Week is planned for 19th - 23rd May 2008. Studios across the UK will be welcoming visitors at certain time throughout the week, and Room 13 Aragon in Morden, Surrey, will be hosting Introduction to Room 13 - a one day course developed and presented by Room 13 HQ.

Room 13 Shikshayatan

January 2008

With the whole school using  the studio, each day is a whirlwind of activity and enthusiasm, and with our Management Team appointed Room 13 Shikshayatan is underway!

Making characters from hay (‘Solakatubommai’ in Tamil) (the rice is being harvested), as well as book making are present trends.
 All artists here are prolific drawers with pencils sharpened to a point and eraser at hand.
The school will be putting on a drama in April and Room 13 will be designing and making the props.  Our work will also be printed along side arcticles, stories and poems in the new school magazine.

The Aseema 2008 Calendar has arrived! This year, we have created a table calendar (13"x5") featuring vibrant paintings of our very talented children.
