Painting and Sketching in the Highlands and Islands
Dates: 4th to 9th May / 11th to 16th May 2008 Tutor: Rob Fairley
This course provides a unique opportunity to explore and paint in an area of spectacular scenery. Possible excursions include travel on the famed West Highland railway line, visits to Glenfinnan, Mallaig, Arisaig, and a tour of the islands of Eigg, Rum and Canna. An optional visit to one of the Room 13 studios in Fort William may also be fitted in. Tutor Rob Fairley has lived and worked in the area for over thirty years and has written extensively about it.
Participants will be based in the Lochailort Inn which is situated half way between Fort William and Mallaig in a stunning location above Loch Ailort and surrounded by the rugged hills of Moidart. It is a friendly, traditional hotel whose rooms are equipped with every modern facility.
Cost: £748.00 including dinner, bed and breakfast, travel during the course and tuition.

Life Drawing Dates: 24th - 25th April 2008
Tutor: Andrew Sinclair Location: Resipole Studios
This course will be run as an introduction to Life Drawing with projects ranging from lightening fast sketches to prolonged poses aimed at building more finished results. The focus will be on observation and quality of line. The approach will be very much on an individual basis where each person will be encouraged to develop their own skills and interests in whichever medium they choose to use.
Resipole Studios is a custom built studio and gallery space at the foot of Ben Resipole, on the shores of Loch Sunart, Scotland. There is a camping and caravan site at Resipole farm, 11 kms from Strontian.
